Although there is no Pupil Premium Plus funding in post 16 education, there is still some financial support for our Looked After Children. There is also the 16-19 Bursary Fund provided by the government. This money is for a range of peoples who qualify, and one of those markers is LAC.
This money works slightly differently to the Pupil Premium Plus funding, as this goes directly to the young person. In order to get this financial support, the education setting, and the young person will need to put in an application together, and the young person will also need their own bank account. The link below goes into far more detail about how to apply and what support is available:
16 to 19 education: financial support for students.
This money can be used on anything that supports the young person in achieving their education. For example, it could be used to buy revision guides, travel to and from their education setting or even buy uniform for certain college courses, such as steel toe caps for courses in construction.
